By now, we hope you have discovered Howling @ the Gates, an original 
comic feature created by Rob Vollmar and Shayna Pond, which made its debut Monday here at LitStack.
Rob and Shayna describe Howling @ the Gates as mixing “high and low, classical history and cutting edge tech culture together in a way that we hope will be entertaining and occasionally thought-provoking,” and cites such classics as Bloom County, Boondocks, the work of Edward Gorey, Calvin and Hobbes and Japanese manga among their influences and inspirations.
In addition to contributing to LitStack, Rob has written three graphic novels and hundreds of journal articles, reviews, and columns – mostly on comics. Shayna is a graphic designer and illustrator. They both work in media at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in media, Rob as a writer, and Shayna as a designer.
We are thrilled to welcome this exciting creative collaboration to the site – look forward to a new strip every day this week, and regularly on Mondays thereafter.
